My name is Chris Parsons and I am the new Sales Manager for Nauticam USA. One of my first orders of business here, besides saying hello in this blog entry, is to come up with a job title other than "Sales Manager".

Perhaps Nauticam Liason?

Ok, that needs work. But I am looking for something that connotes what my role here really is. I'm not here to sell housings, at least not directly. I'm here to help people understand the new Nauticam product line, answer questions and make recommendations, demo the housings for people, and support the dealers that are working with us in the US, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. If I can do those things, I think sales will take care of themselves.

As you may already know, the Nauticam housings for the Nikon D90, Nikon D300 and Nikon D300s are shipping now. And the housing for the amazing full frame Nikon D700 will ship soon. Now, those are great cameras and all... but we've also announced the imminent arrival of the Nauticam for the Canon 7D. I've been a Canon shooter for several years now, so I'm very excited about this housing and just cannot wait to get my hands on one. In the meantime I plan to re-learn the Nikon's by taking them diving at, say, the Blue Heron Bridge in West Palm Beach. I know, it's a tough job, but I think I am up for it.

Speaking of demo-ing the housings, I happen to live in a place, Jupiter FL, that has some very good diving just offshore. If you are willing to make the trip down here and want to try a Nauticam for a dive or two, let me know (give me some advance notice if you can...) and we'll try to make it work. (There’s a “contact” link in the upper right hand corner of this web page that you can use to contact me).

Did I mention the 180 degree viewfinder or the white balance port? Have I told you about the locking mechanism for the port attachments? Have I mentioned the superior ergonomics and build quality yet? No, I haven't yet. (my first day on the job and I am already a slacker). But I will. I plan to tell you about those things and more, and I hope you will be as excited about these products as I am.

So again, hello, and it's great to see you here. Please feel free to drop me a line, or visit my personal website. Hope you can check back soon to hear more about our plans, events, demo's, new products and more.
